Philipsdorp
For the housing company Woonbedrijf in Eindhoven I photographed several situations before and after a major renovation. Philipsdorp was built a hundred years ago by the Philips Company to house a large group of new employees that were imported from the north of the country where labor was scarce. This part of the city was due to be demolished and make place for new housing projects but the inhabitants refused to give it up and didn’t want to leave so the plans changed and the houses went up for renovation.
I photographed the old and the new situation about a year later from the same spot.
